Ministry of Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has met United States Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman to discuss furthering collaboration on the promotion of Kenya's music industry.
Namwamba emphasized on the need to strengthen the country's relations with the US on creative grounds.
"We are keen to expand Kenya-US bilateral cooperation in the growth of the creatives industry and sports as core economic pivots. Partnership in the music and film industry is key," Namwamba said.
The CS said that through the collaboration, Kenya's creative sector stands to benefit from the US expertise in the music sub-sector.
"Partnerships and collaboration are what will revolutionize the sports and the creative space in Kenya," he said.
This, Namwamba said, will help drive the creative industry to the next level and put 'pesa mfukoni' for the creatives in line with the Ministry of Youth Affairs Talanta Hela initiative.
