President William Ruto on Tuesday chaired a Cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi.
The meeting discussed various issues including the drought and food situation in the country, digitalisation of government services and a way to deal with the pending bills.
It approved the establishment of a special committee on pending bills.
The Pending Bills Verification Committee will be tasked with the auditing of liabilities for the period between 2005 and 2022.
The National Government pending bills from June 2005 to June 2022 stand at Sh481 billion while counties owe Sh159.9 billion.
It also approved the hosting of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's sub-regional office in Kenya.
The collaboration will support healthcare, agricultural transformation, and economic growth, attracting increased investments to the country.
The meeting also approved the attendance of UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala, chairperson of Council of Economic Advisors David Ndii and National Security advisor Monica Juma in its meetings.
In a dispatch, the Cabinet also approved the attendance of advisor on Women Rights Harriette Chiggai of the weekly Tuesday Cabinet meetings.
