Nairobi's Central Business District on Thursday remained calm and empty as anti-government protests are expected to enter day two. 

In the early morning hours before 9 am, business premises remained closed as few people were spotted.

Public transport was available despite few number of commuters.

More than 300 people were arrested across the country during the anti-government protests on Wednesday.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said cases of lawlessness happened in parts of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya and Nakuru.

He said those arrested will be charged with crimes including looting, malicious damage of property, arson, robbery with violence and assaulting law enforcement officers.
