President William Ruto has today commissioned the Naromoru Level 4 Hospital in Kieni constituency, Nyeri.

On Wednesday, Ruto marked his fifth and final day of the Mt Kenya tour.

The Head of State has been commissioning various development projects in the region. 

Ruto noted that Community Health Promoters are the engines of our Universal Health Coverage rollout.

"We will train, equip and remunerate these medical workers to serve households effectively at the village level," Ruto said. 

He said the government has plans to ensure diseases are detected early and treated promptly to curb the risk of complications.

Ruto said the hospital will decongest other health facilities and foster long-term health for Kenyans.

He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Health CS Susan Wafula, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and EALA MP Kanini Kega.
