President William Ruto on Thursday landed in Maputo, Mozambique a few minutes after 12 pm.
He was received by Verónica Nataniel Macamo Dlhovo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique.
Ruto will hold discussions with his Mozambique counterpart Filipe Nyusi during the two-day visit.
The visit will mark the launch of the Kenya-Mozambique Joint Trade Committee ( JTC).
"The two will focus on key sectors, including the Blue Economy and Fisheries, Trade, Defence, Agriculture, Energy, Transport and capacity building," State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said in a statement.
Also during the visit, Ruto and Nyusi will oversee the signing of 8 cooperation agreements, solidifying the two countries shared commitment to collaboration.
"This will also strengthen cooperation along the realm of the Indian - Swahili coast," Hussein's statement reads in part.
The visit will also provide momentum for the Kenya-Mozambique Business Forum, which will explore mutual economic opportunities.
