Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday kicked off his African tour with Kenya being his first stop.
Widodo is scheduled to visit Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa, for his first trip to Africa
"This is my first visit to the African region, which is intended to strengthen solidarity among the countries of the global south," he said earlier.
The President arrived with his envoy at State House, Nairobi shortly after 10 am where he was received by his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto.
Under the guidance of President Ruto, Widodo greeted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Francis Ogolla.
President William Ruto accorded the leader full State honours with a 21-gun salute.
President Widodo then proceeded to inspect the guard of honour for about eight minutes before going into the State House building with Ruto.
