President William Ruto has said it is essential for leaders to unite for the benefit of the people. 

Ruto spoke after meeting Kisii leaders at the Kakamega State Lodge. 

He said unity of purpose is vital for the development of the nation.

"Leadership is putting aside political differences to focus on what truly matters: the empowerment of the people and the nation's growth," he said. 

Ruto said MPs, MCAs and grassroots leaders from Kisii, Nyamira, and Migori have agreed to work with the government in transforming Kenya. 

Among the leaders present were Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, Governors SimbaArati (Kisii) and Amos Nyaribo (Nyamira)
