Hundreds of activists from across Africa on Monday held peaceful demonstrations against the inaugural Africa Climate Summit being held in Nairobi.

Waving placards reading "less talk more action," the activists marched from Nyayo Stadium to Green Park Bus Terminus where they convened for the "Africa People's Climate Assembly."

President William Ruto officially opened the Africa Climate Summit, aiming to address the increasing exposure to climate change and its associated costs, both globally and particularly in Africa.

The summit is expected to also look into ways of helping African countries vulnerable to adverse effects of climate change cope with the same.
