President William Ruto has officially launched new UDA Central region offices in Nyeri town.
Downing a yellow kaunda suit, Ruto was accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and other leaders.
He was warmly welcomed by Nyeri women singing Kikuyu songs and praises.
The President thanked the residents for supporting UDA adding that they will hold elections in December to elect party officials.
"All members of UDA will have elections in December. We are going to announce the timetable for elections in December so that we can build the party as an institution of governance," Ruto said.
He said the move will solidify and expand the ruling party to a national level to unite the country, communities and interests.
"We want to make sure that the leadership of the party is determined by the membership of the party," Ruto said.
"Everybody who wants to be an official of the party must go back to the poling station and begin the journey from there. Socialise yourselves with the members of the party."
Ruto was accompanied by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, UDA chairperson Cecily Mbarire, UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala and Kiharu MP Ndidi Nyoro among others.
