President William Ruto on Friday attended the 2023 US-Kenya business roadshow in San Francisco, California.
The President said Kenya has the intention of creating millions of jobs for the growing numbers of young people.
He said that one of the five strategic pillars is the digital superhighway and creative economy, which is intended to lay the foundation for infrastructure, policies, incentives and other mechanisms.
Ruto said that it will significantly enhance our national capacity to participate competitively in the global digital sector.
He added that under the Plan, the establishment of last-mile fibre-optic connectivity is intended to optimize Kenya’s digital and tech potential.
To accelerate successful performance in the other pillars of universal health coverage, affordable housing, agricultural transformation and the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise sectors.
The President was accompanied by US Ambassador Meg Whitman among other leaders.
The U.S.-Kenya Business Roadshow embarked on its journey earlier this year, commencing in New York City on April 25, with a primary focus on the apparel sector.
The event, organized by the U.S. Government’s Prosper Africa initiative and the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, brings together leading U.S. technology companies and investors to explore the vast business and investment potential within Kenya’s thriving tech sector.
This marks the culmination of a three-city U.S.-Kenya Roadshow tour, with previous stops in New York City and Chicago, each focusing on different sectors of opportunity.
