The Nairobi Arbitration Week began on Monday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
The summit began with a keynote speech by National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss.
She encouraged women to join spaces of alternative dispute resolution methods.
She also called on the legal sector to seek ADR to fast-track solving disputes, as opposed to filing matters in court.
The meeting is organised by various stakeholders including the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA), Women in ADR (WADR), The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators ( CIArb), International Chamber of Commerce ( ICC), The International Development Law Organisation ( IDLO) and various law firms.
The event will run until Friday.
In the course of the week, Chief Justice Martha Koome and Attorney General Justin Muturi are expected to deliver keynote speeches.
