President William Ruto was warmly received in Kericho County on Friday morning.
Ruto had been away for a three-state visit in China and came back on Thursday morning.
The President in the company of First Lady Rachel Ruto arrived in Kericho before 9 am in the morning.
They were received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua at the Kerenga Airstrip.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruyiot among other leaders were also there to welcome the President.
The President later made his way to the Kericho Green Stadium where he will preside over Kenya's 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations.
The 10,000-seater Kericho Green Stadium was full by 7 am.
On Thursday, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba had officially received the stadium from the contractor after successful reconstruction which took two months.
The stadium had been upgraded to a 10,000-seater capacity stadium with two VIP lounges, two changing rooms, terraces and paved parking.
Upon arrival, Ruto entered his ceremonial open Land-Rover for the military ceremony.
Members of the public stood in honour as they waved back at Ruto.
After going round the stadium, Ruto stopped for the national anthem to be sung which was followed by the East African anthem.
He later inspected guard of honour.
