President William Ruto on Wednesday inspected Uhuru Gardens ahead of King Charles III and Queen Camilla's State Visit next week.
The Head of State who was from an official visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, arrived at the Gardens around noon to tour the area.
Ruto was accompanied by CS for Defence Aden Duale, Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla, CS for Gender and Culture Heritage Aisha Jumwa and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
President Ruto said Kenya is honoured to be the chosen country by the King and Queen for their first visit to a Commonwealth nation.
"Kenya is honoured that King Charles III and Queen Camilla have chosen our country for their first visit to a Commonwealth nation," he said.
"This choice is a testament to the depth of our relations and the mutually beneficial nature of our partnership. The visit is a significant opportunity to enhance our collaboration in various areas of shared interest."
King Charles III and Queen Camilla will from October 31 to November 3, 2023, be in Kenya for an official State Visit.
There will be activities lined up for the two leaders for the four days they will be in the country.
According to a statement released on October 11, the King and Queen will visit Nairobi and Mombasa counties and surrounding areas.
Upon arrival, their Majesties will be greeted in Nairobi with a ceremonial welcome at the State House.
Later, they will each attend bilateral meetings, separately.
The King will be with President William Ruto while the Queen with First Lady Rachel Ruto.
