Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and First Lady Carmen Georgeta Iohannis on Tuesday were received by President William Ruto at State House.
They arrived with tight security, police bikes ahead and their convoy following.
Iohnannis arrived at State Hosue a few minutes past 11 am, where they were welcomed by Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla.
Upon their arrival, the Romania National Anthem hymn was played followed by the Kenya national anthem.
After that, the visiting head of State was honored with a 21-gun salute as required when a Head of State visits the State House.
President Iohannis then proceeded to inspect a guard of honour before being ushered into State House buildings.
Iohannis is on an African tour where he will be visiting four African countries.
According to the Presidential Administration of Romania, President Iohannis will visit Kenya, Tanzania, Cabo Verde, and Senegal between November 14-23.
In Kenya, Iohannis will hold talks with President William Ruto and UNEP executive director Inger Andersen at the United Nations Office in Nairobi.
The visiting President will sign environmental and political cooperation, agreements and inaugurate a school and a Romanian development assistance programme donation.
