Cabinet Secretary Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi on Thursday joined Guinea Bissau as they celebrated 50 years since they gained independence.
He was received by Guinea Bissau president Umaro Embalo and other leaders.
"Delighted to join President Umaro Embalo, several African leader and thousands of Bissau Guineans for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of their Independence in the vibrant capital of Bissau," he said on his X account.
He also said that their indomitable quest for freedom exemplifies the unwavering strength of the African spirit.
"As a continent, our journey towards self-determination did not stop with the raising of flags. Our new frontier lies in the endeavour to economically empower our people for a prosperous future that transcends generations."
"Together, let's celebrate this momentous occasion, cherishing the cardinal values that serve as the bedrock of Guinea Bissau: Unity, Struggle, and Progress," he added.
