Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday met Namba and Kamenjo residents after recent attacks by bandits.

The CS had made a tour of the two areas in Baringo North Subcounty.

He noted that while significant strides have been made towards ending banditry, much more needs to be done to completely neutralize the threats posed by bandits terrorising the public in Northern Rift Valley.

Addressing residents at Ngaratuko Primary School grounds, Kindiki assured them that the government has stepped up efforts to root out violent bandit attacks across the country.

During the visit, the CS also held a strategy and operational review meeting with operation commanders, heads of various security agencies and commanders of formed-up units.

Kindiki said that together with local security heads and field commanders, they have reviewed the progress of Operation Maliza Uhalifu, and to seal off operational gaps, they will start by reorganising the management, command and control of the National Police Reservists.

He said in the new structure, NPRs will supplement the capabilities of the National Police Service (NPS) and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the operation.
