President William Ruto on Thursday graced the ninth edition of the Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo.
He was accompanied by his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua and other leaders.
The two-day event which started on Wednesday at the Kimalel grounds in Baringo South, had been suspended for two years in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The theme for this year is 'Harmony and Heritage' to celebrate unity and diversity.
Early this month, Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi stated that the event will incorporate cultural events which will be showcased on and will include a traditional boat road race called “Kaldich” at Lake Baringo and sporting activities involving all the communities in Baringo.
He said his county has suffered bandit attacks hence the need to host events that will bring the community together with the hopes of reducing hostilities.
