On Sunday, President William Ruto and Mama Rachel Ruto led New Year celebrations at State House, Nakuru.
The event was attended by several leaders including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his spouse Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
During the celebrations, Ruto noted that 2023 was an extraordinary year, marked by difficulties and sacrifices.
"It was a year that we collectively made bold, decisive and far-reaching decisions to take Kenya to the path of growth.
"The choices we made were painful yet necessary with a promise for a long-term gain," he said.
This is Ruto's first New Year celebration. In 2022, he only made a statement.
Other leaders present were Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, National Assembly speaker Moses Wetang'ula and several Cabinet Secretaries were also present.
Several MPs and other invited guests were also present.
