National Assembly Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations chairperson Nelson Koech on Wednesday held a meeting with German Ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Groth.

The envoy had paid the Belgut MP a courtesy call at his KICC office.

The two discussed potential areas of cooperation through Parliamentary Diplomacy to entrench ties between Kenya and Germany.

This was the second meeting between the two leaders after an earlier engagement in late 2022, where the Ambassador alongside German Legislators from the Defence Committee met their Kenyan Counterparts.

Relations between the two countries date back to 1963 when the Federal Republic of Germany became the first country to recognise Kenya under international law after independence.
