Interior Cabinet Secretary  Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday met with  Samburu leaders as bandits continue to wreak havoc on the county.

The meeting which took place at Haremebee Annexe saw the CS meet with leaders led by Governor Lati Lelelit to discuss how banditry can be best tackled.

In the meeting, Kindiki listened to the views of the leaders as he urged them to work together with the ministry to end the menace that is taking the lives of innocent Kenyans.

"The government regrets the recent escalation of violent attacks in parts of Samburu," Kindiki said.

He noted that the State undertakes to respond strongly to dismantle the organised gangs of bandits terrorising innocent citizens within Samburu and neighbouring Counties.

Other elected leaders who attended the meeting include Samburu Senator Stephen Lelegwe,  Pauline Lenguris (Woman Representative), Naisula Lesuuda (Samburu West), Eli Letipila (Samburu North), Jackson Lekumontare (Samburu East) and Hezena Lemaletian (Nominated).
