Kenyatta University students were Friday moved by emotions as they mourned 11 departed colleagues who died in a tragic road accident on Monday.

They held a candle-lighting ceremony to remember them.

The 11 were among a group of 58 others heading to Mombasa for an academic trip before their school bus collided with a trailer.

The Kenyatta University will on Sunday hold a Memorial Service for 11 students.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Kenyatta University Graduation Square Grounds from 9.00 a.m. 

"Together, we will pay tribute, celebrate and commemorate the lasting impact of these exceptional individuals on the University community," a statement from the University read.
