Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday toured Coastal region counties to address pressing issues on security.
In Taita Taveta County, the focus was on tackling human-wildlife conflict and mineral rights grievances, along with combating illicit substances.
In Voi Town, he attended the State of the County Security Appraisal Forum and later led discussions with County Commissioner Josephine Onunga and heads of security and law enforcement agencies to strategise on improving security.
Recognising the importance of accessible public services, Kindiki emphasised government's commitment to providing necessary facilities across the country.
Kindiki highlighted the importance of both suppressing supply and addressing demand.
In Kilifi County, Kindiki confronted issues such as land fraud, illegal land encroachment and criminal activities.
He revealed that efforts were underway to address the aftermath of the Shakahola massacre, with plans to acquire parts of Chakama Ranch for a memorial.
He stressed that a conducive work environment enhances public officers' productivity and dignifies service recipients.
Moving on to Kwale County, Kindiki inspected the construction of the Subcounty Headquarters.
The facility, funded jointly by the Ministry of Interior and the Kinango Constituency Development Fund, will house various administrative departments to serve the community.
