Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome has a word with security officers at Tot, Baringo on April 3, 2024.

Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome Wednesday visited security officers in Tot as part of his ongoing tour of Baringo County.

Koome is conducting a security assessment of Operation Maliza Uhalifu, a joint-military police operation against cattle rustling and banditry in the North Rift.

He began his tour of the county Tuesday where he met officers at Kabarnet county police headquarters and Chemolingot Joint Operation Centre.

He lauded the officers for their commitment to duty, patriotism to the country and selfless service under some of the most challenging circumstances.

Koome has also made similar tours to Meru and Turkana counties.

Two weeks ago, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure dispatched the newly acquired modern equipment including Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles for use by Formed Police Units in the Operational areas.
