Family and friends of former KTN news anchor Michael Oyier gathered at the All Saints Cathedral for a requiem mass ahead of his send-off.
Oyier died on Sunday, April 21, at a Nairobi hospital following what the family said was a stroke.
He will be buried on Friday, May 3, at their home in Homa Bay county.
A fundraiser was held on Tuesday at All Saints Auditorium from 5-7 pm.
Oyier, born in 1975 to the late Alfred and Linet Oyier, was the second-born son among five siblings.
He had a successful career in journalism spanning over a decade despite having studied Psychology and Management at university.
Oyier started at Capital FM before moving to KTN where he had an illustrious nine-year stay before quitting in 2012 to practice counselling, his first passion.
Oyier leaves behind two daughters.
