A contingent of police officers have been deployed in Eldoret town and its environs ahead of the planned peaceful demonstrations for Tuesday.

Photos obtained by the Star show at least 18 police vehicles including land cruisers and lorries patrolling the city.

A number of businesses, however, remain closed.
