Suspected goons in Mombasa have attacked and vandalised a Bata shop along Digo Road, Posta area.

Further looting was however thwarted after a group of men fought with the suspected goons who later ran away.

They managed to take away a few pairs of shoes.

The goons broke the door of the shop and started taking away the shoes.

This happened after three people were allegedly shot and injured by a private citizen in Mombasa.

This came even as suspected thugs took advantage of the protest and started harassing protesters by stealing their phones.

Two of them were rescued by police officers after angry youth attacked them for allegedly stealing.

A foreigner who was walking along Dedan Kimathi streets became a victim of robbery after the goons grabbed his documents and phone and walked away with them.

One person was also attacked and his clothes torn when he tried to rescue his phone along Digo road.

A fruit seller was left counting losses after the group of goons invaded her stall, and ate all stock as the businessperson ran for safety.

A chemist nearby was robbed of seats, fire extinguishers and drugs.

Businesses were closed for the better part of the day as people locked themselves in offices in fear of being robbed.
