There was a huge traffic snarl-up on Waiyaki Way on Monday as digital taxi drivers took to the streets to demonstrate.

Those who defied the orders and continued to work 'had their tyres deflated by striking drivers'.

They are demonstrating to push for better terms.

Some taxis had their tyres removed, stalling them on roads.
