Nakuru residents on Tuesday engaged police in running battles as they took to the streets to protest.

Police fired teargas to disperse them along Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru.

Some children who were caught up in the melee were seen trying to escape from the teargas lobbed by police.

Police started lobbying teargas in Moi Avenue, Nairobi at around 11 am.

They were dispersing a crowd that was swelling in the streets waving Kenyan flags.
