Protests have begun in Mombasa on a high notch with police firing teargas at peaceful protesters.

In the incident, a suspected tear gas canister injured a businessman along Moi Avenue in Mombasa.

He sustained a wound above his right eye.

Protesters ended up stopping an ambulance to give first aid to the injured businessperson who is deaf.

The police officers have positioned themselves in different parts of the town to ensure that no protest goes on.

This is the second month of the protests which begun on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Since then, it has become a norm to have anti-government demonstrations on Tuesdays.
