President William Ruto on Saturday interacted with residents in Likoni, Mombasa county.
The President is on a three-day developmental tour of the Coastal region.
While addressing the Likoni residents, the President promised them goodies.
He said the leaders in the county should unite since they are now one team under the broad-based government.
Ruto promised the residents that the Kenya Ports Authority will get funds to ensure Mombasa port is expanded.
"On Monday, we will give authority to Kenya Ports Authority to sign the contract that is going to see another investment of Sh42 billion in the Mombasa Port as part of its modernisation to benefit the residents and Kenyans at large," he said.
The President further drummed up support for his newly nominated persons in cabinet.
He called on Mombasa residents to support former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to head the Ministry of Mining, Fishing and Blue Economy.
Ruto also nominated immediate former CS Salim Mvurya to the Ministry of Trade, a resident of the Coastal region.
The President was accompanied by Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir among a host of local leaders.
