Light moment as Ruto, Gachagua enjoy a cup of tea and bananas in Kisii

President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua had a light moment at South Mugirango Constituency in Kisii County, when a resident gave them bananas and tea.

In photos shared by the Presidential Communication Service, Ruto and Gachagua are seen peeling bananas as they chat with the resident, Yunuke Nyanchongi.

"Earlier, we switched on power at the home of 85-year-old Yunuke Nyanchongi of Riasuta Itibonge Village in South Mugirango, Kisii County," Ruto said.

Ruto was gifted a chicken during the development tour.

The President and his Deputy had gone to launch the last mile rural electrification project at the Raisuta-Etibonge Etago area.

Ruto noted that rural electrification in all parts of the country is essential to powering our rural economies.

Gachagua noted that they will continue to improve access to electricity and increase income to all households.

They were accompanied by Governor Simba Arati and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.
