President William Ruto has commissioned the installation of seven solar mini-grids under the Kenya Electricity Modernisation Project.
The commissioning took place at the Mageta Island Solar Grid in Mageta, Bondo Constituency, Siaya County.
The grid will power 1,400 households, support fish trading by powering cold rooms and improve public service delivery in hospitals and schools.

The President also officially commissioned the Usonga Siriwo Rice Mill that will facilitate increased food production in Siaya and Busia Counties.
Ruto is on the third day of the four-day development tour in Nyanza region.
