- Kindiki extended deep sympathies to the affected families, school fraternity, and surrounding community.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Friday visited Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri after a fire razed down a dormitory as the pupils slept.
The tragedy has claimed the lives of 17 boys and left many others nursing serious injuries.
Kindiki extended deep sympathies to the affected families, school fraternity, and surrounding community.
He said that following President William Ruto's directive government agencies have been deployed and instructed to mobilise every possible support and assistance to the affected families.
"The government assures full accountability for all whose actions or inaction contributed to this tremendous loss," he said.
Kindiki said the tragedy is not only an injury to Nyeri County but extends to the entire nation.
He said agencies have joined hands to help with managing the situation on the ground.
