Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday morning chaired the North and North Eastern Development Initiative (NEDI) forum.

The high-level consultative forum was held at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.

The meeting brought together Cabinet Secretaries, and senior state officials among other stakeholders.

NEDI covers ten counties: Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu, Mandera,Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, and West Pokot.

The initiative consists of six core projects including Grid Solar Access Project for Underserved Counties, Climate Smart Agriculture Project, Water and Sanitation Development Project, North Eastern Transport Improvement Project, Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project, as well as the National Safety Net Program Additional Financing.
