Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Monday held a bilateral meeting with the CEO of the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) Patrick Verkooijenga.
The CS was briefed on GCA's projects in Kenya including the Adaptation Acceleration Programme and preparations for the forthcoming 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.
Verkooijenga is also the Chancellor of The University of Nairobi.
They also discussed Kenya's priority climate action initiatives including the ongoing restoration of the Nairobi river ecosystem.
Also discussed was the strengthening of the University of Nairobi's Institute for Climate Change Adaptation.
This is to develop a robust pipeline of investments for resilient infrastructure in Kenya, unlock climate finance and create green adaptation jobs.
Nairobi's Climate Change and Adaptation Institute will also support Kenyan entrepreneurs scale up business solutions for climate-resilient infrastructure in the country.
Environment and Climate Change Principal Secretary Festus Ng'eno also attended the meeting.
