Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday attended worship at PEFA Branch, Thika Town Church in Kiambu County.
The church was being granted cathedral status.
Gachagua lauded PEFA's Reverend Lucy Karuri on her installation as Reverend.
"Congratulations to Bishop Apostle Waihenya and the faithful of PEFA Thika Town Cathedral on this new status, which affirms your determination to spread the Word of God and reach more people with impact," he added.
The Deputy President was accompanied by Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa and Murang'a Senator Joe Nyutu.
He was also accompanied by MPs Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), Benjamin Gathiru Mejjadonk (Embakasi Central), Teresiah Wanjiru (Nominated) and former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.
Others were former Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru and MCAs led by the host, Deputy Speaker and Hospital Ward Representative John Njiru and Majority Leader Mucheke Waiyaki.
