Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans to continue building the nation through progressive work in the agricultural sector.
Speaking during a tour of Kirinyaga, Embu, and Meru counties on Saturday, the DP said he will continue pushing for coffee reforms, which is his mandate.
During the tour, Gachagua made an impromptu stop at Embu Town, acknowledge greetings from the jubilant residents of Embu Town.
"Our engagement with them cut across the political state of our nation and the progress we must make as a nation. Thank you, Embu," Gachagua said.
The DP also interacted with children living with physical disabilities at Moi Stadium in Embu.
"The children who are differently abled need our support, care, and love. Following the June 28, 2024, fire incident at the Jomo Kenyatta Center for Children with Physical Disabilities, which has supported over 2,000 children since 1974, need our support," Gachagua said.
In Kirinyaga, Gachagua condoled with the parents of Elius Linus Mugendi, a PP1 pupil at Difathas Primary School, who passed on after being knocked by a speeding motorist on Friday.
"I engaged and calmed down the residents of Gituto-Difathas, who had blocked the Embu-Meru Highway expressing their dissatisfaction over the incident I urge our road users to exercise maximum care while on our highways. Every human life is sacred," the DP said.
