Sedentary lifestyle, hormones and the foods you eat may increase your abdominal fat.

People who regularly eat and drink more calories than they burn are more likely to gain extra weight, including belly fat.

The problem is worsened as one ages and for those who are not physically active.

Studies have also shown that high alcohol intake is linked to weight gain including abdominal obesity, especially in men.

Sticking to drinking water, unsweetened coffee or tea and eating a diet of minimally processed foods can help reduce belly fat.
