Britam has teamed up with ride-hailing service Little to enhance its 'Be Safe' insurance cover, providing additional protection for passengers during their rides.

The cover now includes personal accident, property insurance, and compensation for accidental death, permanent disability, and medical expenses.

Britam’s Director, Partnership and Digital Evah Kimani said passengers can also claim for lost personal or corporate belongings, such as phones and laptops.

“With ‘Be Safe,’ Britam provides a streamlined solution for passengers using ride-hailing services. This cover allows affected parties to easily claim for both personal injury and loss of belongings, offering convenience,” said

This partnership comes as the digital taxi industry in Kenya continues to grow, with more corporates integrating ride-hailing services into their operations.

The cover applies to all Little vehicle categories, with premiums ranging from Ksh15 to Ksh20 per ride. Passengers can activate the cover through the Little app.

According to both parties, this partnership reflects the growing demand for enhanced safety in Kenya’s ride-hailing market, projected to reach Ksh6.5 billion by 2024.

Be Safe now offers a comprehensive solution that includes accidental death and permanent total disability coverage, accidental medical expenses, and the replacement of personal and corporate belongings such as phones and laptops, with coverage up to Ksh150,000.
