[VIDEO] Sonko clears Sh260,000 hospital bill for Migori protesters

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has cleared the medical bill of six people hospitalised with gunshot wounds after NASA demonstrations in Migori.

The patients were detained at St Joseph Omboo Mission Hospital over Sh263,341.

They were discharged on Thursday afternoon after Sonko cleared the bill and gave each of them Sh10,000 for transport back home.

IMLU said police has killed 36 people in post election demonstrations between August and October.

Migori is among four counties where voting in the repeat presidential election did not take place due to protests. The others are Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay.
