NTSA officials in Voi on Friday arrested a Tahmeed bus driver after a video of him driving recklessly on the road went viral.

Answar Mabruki Faraj was arrested while heading to Mombasa from Nairobi with the bus of registration number KCN 976R.

Lazarus Monye, NTSA officer in charge of Taita Taveta county, said Answar's driving license was confiscated.

He was later released on Sh10,000 cash bail and will be charged in Voi court with speeding, dangerous driving among other offences.

"We have taken his driving license and released him on cash bail. We shall prosecute him in court at a later date," Monye said.

The bus was, however, inspected and allowed to proceed with its journey to Mombasa after it was found to be fit for public service.

Monye said that the rogue driver will have to undertake fresh driving course before being issued with a new driving licence.

He warned drivers and road users to exercise caution adding that the authority will work around the clock to bring rogue motorists to book.
