The construction of a fire station along Kangundo Road is now 75 per cent complete, Governor Mike Sonko has said.
The project kicked off last year and once complete, the fire station will serve more Nairobians within the next few weeks.
"Once complete the fire station will be fully equipped with fire engines, ambulances, and adequate personnel to run the operations. It will also have its own boreholes for water supply," Sonko said.
Sonko said residents of Mowlem Ward and the surrounding areas will benefit from the facility.
The Governor is planning to put up at least one fire station in all the 17 constituencies of Nairobi.
