The State will increase the courses offered at Webuye Medical Training College.
Chairman of KMTC board Prof Philip Kaloki said the move is in line with the President's Big Four agenda to ensure proper healthcare for Kenyans.
Kaloki said this on Thursday at Webuye MTC while handing over a 62-seater bus to the school.
"We only have three courses in this institution and the other colleges in Bungoma and Chwele and yet we are having many students joining these medical colleges, something that we are addressing soon," he said.
Kaloki said that currently Webuye has clinical medicine, nursing and health records but will soon have pharmacy and community health.
Kaloki said they will collaborate with the county government and area MP and MCAs to revamp the infrastructure of the college.
"We will ensure the courses are increased in this college when we are having the next intake in March next year," he said.
He said they will increase infrastructure in the school to absorb 1,000 students.
Kaloki said the number of students joining MTC colleges across the country has increased from 28,000 to 40,000 in the past five years.
"In the past we had only 28 campuses across the country but through the Office of the President and Health CS Sicily Kariuki we have managed to increase to 67," he said.
