Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju was involved in a road accident in Nakuru.
Tuju was heading to Kabarak to attend the burial of former late President Daniel Arap Moi.
Tuju's vehicle hit a matatu at Magina area on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway and was admitted at Kijabe Hospital before being airlifted.
The police report from the Lari police station confirmed that the accident happened at around 6.45am.
It said that Tuju had chest and abdominal injuries while his bodyguard Charles Oyaro had a fracture at the right hand.
Tuju's driver had a fracture of the right leg while the matatu driver was unconscious and has been put into a life support machine.
Tuju complained of chest pains before being airlifted to Nairobi in a police helicopter.
The other 12 passengers who were in the matatu sustained minor injuries and were rushed to Kijabe Mission Hospital and are in stable condition.
Tuju was in the car with his driver and bodyguard.
Sports CS Amina Mohamed was one of the first respondents on the site and helped in evacuating the secretary general.
