Catherine Mumma to head new ODM elections board ahead of 2022

Mumma takes over from Judith Pareno.

ODM has named Catherine Mumma as the National Elections Board chairperson for a five-year term.

Mumma takes over from nominated senator Judith Pareno. This means that Mumma will be in charge of the 2022 elections.

Other members of the ODM National Elections Board include;  Abdulahi Diriye,  Richard Tairo, Syntei Nchoe and Emily Awita.

The board will follow election rules and set up county elections panels/supervisors to identify candidates of high integrity.

In the appointments made on Tuesday, Ben Sihanya was appointed to head the Disciplinary Committee.

Other members of the committee include; Ramadhani M. Abubakar, Mumbi Ngaru, Seth Kakusye and Florence Omosa

The new members of both Committees shall hold office for a term of five years.

"It is our expectation that the new members will begin work immediately as they will find their in trays full," secretary general Edwin Sifuna said on Tuesday.

"The new NEB must quickly settle and begin preparations for the Party Grassroots Elections."

 Sifuna said the new Disciplinary Committee is expected to settle down quickly and dispense with urgent pending disciplinary cases involving our MCAs from Nairobi, Bungoma and Nyamira Counties.

"These changes have resulted from wide consultation with our membership and we now wish to urge our members across the country to support the new teams as they seek to better our party," he said.

He thanked all those who served previously on these committees for their dedication and service.

 

"We wish to also congratulate the new appointees and wish them the very best as they embark on their work," he said.
