Teachers across the country trooped back to schools on Monday to prepare to receive learners once the Education ministry announces return dates.

At Kihumbuini Primary School in Kangemi, headteacher Hassan Tala was a group of teachers who had sat next to each other while maintaining social distancing rules.

Another teacher was in the classroom, cleaning the chalk board as empty desks were arranged to factor in social distancing rules.

At Moi Avenue Primary School, teachers and parents inspected newly built toilets.

Teachers convened for a meeting to discuss reopening.

Last week, the Council of Governors announced ECDE centres would open a month after other schools reopen to assess the preparedness.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address the nation after the Covid-19 conference where he is expected to announce new measures for a post-Covid Kenya.
