The electoral agency is set for the Lakeview ward by-election in Naivasha on Tuesday.
The race has attracted 14 candidates. The seat fell vacant after MCA Karanja Mburu died in a road accident.
Aspirants seeking the seat include George Mathu (Jubilee), Simon Wanyoike (New Young Democrats), Betty Kamau (DP) and Daniel Chege (independent).
Others are Reuben Gitau (PPK), Pius Onyangore (independent), Elizabeth Wanjiru (RBK), David Njau (FAP) and Viginia Wairimu (PNU), among others.
IEBC returning officer David Mbui said they have received the ballot papers.
“We have received all the necessary documents for this by-election and security in all the polling stations is assured,” he said.
Mbui said there are 31 polling stations. Tallying will be conducted at Naivasha Boarding Primary School.
“We are happy that the candidates conducted their campaigns maturely and peacefully and it's time for the voters to decide,” he said.
