Carrefour Kenya Presents New Store at Westgate Mall Store

Carrefour has announced the official opening of a new store at the Westgate Mall in Westlands.

This will be the 12th store operated by Carrefour in the country.

The retailer owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Kenya, continues to cater to the growing need of modern retail stores in Kenya creating jobs for the local community.

As a result of new store opening, Carrefour hopes to create at least 200 jobs for the residents of Westlands, Parklands and the larger Thigiri area.

"The new store will bring services closer to customers by adopting the Carrefour Market model. Through this model, Carrefour will provide customers with a selected assortment of essentials along with light household items and small electrical appliances that are the most relevant to customers’ everyday life," Carrefour said on Wednesday.

Country Manager Majid Al Futtaim  said the new store will also introduce several digital services including “Valet trolley” which will give customers the chance to shop and have their goods ready for collection at the store.

The new service, 'Click and Collect' will also allow customers to shop online and then drop by the mall to have their shopping brought to the trunk of their car.

"Importantly, the opening of the store will boost the growth of Nairobi County’s economy through direct and indirect employment of over 200 Nairobi residents. This aligns with Carrefour’s dedication to developing local talent and investing in local careers as much as the growth of its industry," Futtaim said.

This follows the recent Carrefour openings in Kwale County at Diani Centre Point Plaza and at the Nextgen mall, along Mombasa road in Nairobi.
