Is an influential CAS’s home the centre of underground deals aimed at manipulating results of an upcoming by-election? Well, it has emerged that the former politician's car was on Friday seen with boxes that witnesses said looked like IEBC ballot materials when it was cruising its way into his palatial residence in the outskirts of a key gateway town. This even as reports indicated that the CAS could be part of a team keen on overturning the will of voters in one of the by-elections in the country contrary to the law. Voters are appealing to the Wafula Chebukati-led commission to enhance vigilance and ensure their votes count at the ballot as envisaged in the Constitution. They also want security agents to be on the lookout for any threats that could lead to electoral malpractices.

They claim that the first-term legislator has been awarding bursaries to his tribesmen at the expense of other communities in the constituency. The residents vented their anger in a WhatsApp group where the MP also belongs. Interestingly, the man has never responded to the concerns of his voters. The residents have now vowed to petition investigative authorities to probe the conduct of the lawmaker with others recommending collection of signatures to recall him.
