Three Nasa principals - Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula - on Tuesday signed a formal exit from the opposition coalition.
The leaders at the same time announced countrywide rallies to market their One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
Speaking after a joint Parliamentary Group meeting, the principals said their premature Nasa exit was due to a trust deficit from the Raila Odinga-led ODM.
"Mindful of this trust deficit, our three parties, transparently informed the Kenyan people of their individual decision to leave the Nasa coalition," Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi who read the joint statement said.
The leaders said all instruments giving effect to the decision has been processed by each party in accordance with their respective party constitutions.
Mudavadi said OKA is not a closed shop but is open to all like-minded individuals and parties.

"Today we want to put beyond any doubt that each of the parties has written to the Registrar of Political Parties to put an end to our affiliation to Nasa," Mudavadi said.
"Nasa had reached an end today through a trust deficit. It is now part of our history," said the Bungoma Senator.
"Having removed clutches of Nasa in our hands, we can now engage and actualise the One Kenya Alliance."
